why: convey emotions through a combination of text and images
The final output of the Publishing Lab is an illustrated book, where words and images merge together in order to achieve an emotional effect. I choose to illustrate some parts of the novel Tropic of Cancer by Henry Miller using the red color to communicate a strong sensation. So all illustrated pages have the red as leitmotiv. Then I designed the cover as well as other two books in order to create a book series.
Selected spreads were displayed during the Made in Iuav Exposition inside the Architectural Venice Biennale 2008.
