elevator pitch
The final output of the Type Design course is a physical typographic installation. We take adjectives related to medieval Black Death (La Peste) taken from an Ambroise PoirĂ©’s paragraph. The installation is made out height banners in a colonnade. Each banner has a different halftone pattern: the more the distance, the less dense is the pattern itself. The spectator do not realize it from the starting point of view, the banners seems all the same and perfectly readable. While walking through the installation, suddenly you realize that the nearest you are, the less you can actually read. Words becomes Black Death plagues and when you finally understand, you know, it’s too late…

The document shows the whole work and exercises of the lab. The final output is an installation in Campo Santi Apostoli in Venice.
